Apparently we made a bid that fell short yesterday
The same paper also said we will sign Raul De Tomas this window

75m is Haaland level value.

Reports we did make an approach but told no way.
No, because Haaland's price is a clause and not his value. As long as we can't get Haaland for or a similar level player for 75m it's irrelevant, just like 0m won't be the going rate for Mbappe level players this summer.

Isak's clause is higher than Haaland. IMO if we've been prepared to offer about the same money for both Vlahovic and Isak, then I expect to see a similar offer for Haaland - regardless of how likely it is to succeed or not.

There's zero likelihood of it succeeding. We could pay 500 million and Haaland still wouldn't come here.
Of course the reason we're willing to pay more for Vlahovic and Isak than Haaland (if we were to do that) isn't that we want them more than him. No reason to make a bid, clubs talk to players before it gets to that unless they're stringing us along.

Not unless we achieve top4/UCL and replace Edu and Arteta with the Ajax management team.

Even then he won’t consider us
Nobody wants to play for a manager who throws his toys out the pram over the slightest hint of dissent unless your name is Xhaka. We've got a wannabe dictator in charge of the side
Anzac you read too much fan fiction on F365. How's Ajax Management coming to Arsenal (when has an entire management team changed clubs anyway) related to our non existent chances of signing Haaland?

Lol = I was referring to all 3 of Van Der Sar, Overmars and ten Hag who had all been talking of moves over the last 12 months or so. So far as Haaland is concerned I was only thinking that those 3 have more managerial creds in each of their individual roles and as a management team, than our current incumbents. Now ask me if my post was serious or just a throw away line in regards to our transfer strategy and squad building.
I suspect we've missed our opportunity re Isak as a number of clubs are being linked to him as an alternative to Haaland.
The optimist in me is wondering if actually we laid the ground work with him and his agent last few weeks and are ahead. It's whether we qualify for the CL that'll knock us back in the queue or hold us firm. However, the competition is probably going to scupper efforts to get a price lower than the release clause.
Except I don't see that working for us if the likes of Barca, LFC, MU & MC are all involved.
Would grab G. Jesus (who I'm slowly changing my mind on) if Isak goes to City. I think United are targeting Jonathan David. They also have about 7 positions between bench and XI to try and fill in the summer. Haven't heard of LFC being after a CF; they could be after your wishlisted Gnabry though depending how contract renewal with Salah goes. They'll probably have to fork out a ton if they are serious about Bellingham too; maybe too much to go for another premium player. Barca can get fucked if on top of their financial mismanagement and 50 mil euro outlay on F. Torres that they manage to afford Isak. They just tied down Aubameyang till 2025 and I'm not sure he'll have a chance show enough to be back on the shop window for the summer.

I've thought that since they were tapping up Fabregas. Just wish the Spanish Govt would revoke their special trust status so they and RM have to start paying taxes.
Manchester United have joined Arsenal in being keen on Real Sociedad's 22-year-old striker Alexander Isak, with the Old Trafford club viewing the Sweden forward as a replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo. (Football London)
Of course they have. They're also supposedly in for Declan Rice for £100m, mind you.
I'm sure Ronaldo is desperate to get out of the United experience. That Christmas pic where he whinged about his "struggle" in 2021 was hilarious.
