Less of a gamble only in the sense that you know for certain you're massively overpaying for someone. Isak is a big gamble but he has enough in his locker that it could pay off.
Yep, Calvert-Lewin's ceiling is a known, and it's disappointingly low. Isak's potential is through the roof. I don't think the former is even a consideration, personally. I'd be stunned if we were ever actually in for him.
A move for Isak tomorrow seems to fit with all the rest of what has gone on in this window, and the fact that we only really have a departing Lacazette as a proper option. And, of course, every single last person at the club will be absolutely desperate to claim that Champions League spot. With that in mind, I can't see any way in which we don't sign a striker tomorrow. It would be completely illogical not to.
Isak is in London, he has a release clause, he's a confirmed admirer of Arsenal and Henry, he's the right age, his wages won't be sky high, he has exactly the right skill-set that we're looking for in a Number 9.
Aubameyang is leaving, I've gone and convinced myself it has to be Isak tomorrow. The Number 14 is dead, long live the Number 14!
