I'm a little surprised to be honest. I didn't see it with him during the Benefica vs Liverpool quarter finals. May even prefer that they shell out 80 million on him.

Spurs acquiring Forster and moving to Pau Torres continues to indicate sensible activity and effective thinking to me. Hopefully most are going to be using them for a bumper.

De Jong to United rumours are really heating up. Not liking that at all.

de jong is top quality, but it will take quite a structural change to deploy him correctly at man united. he's best as the deepest lying midfielder, and if you put him there, you have to structure the rest of the midfield correctly. not sure de jong and penandes could co-exist, unless ten had goes for an energetic, high risk style of play. there's still a big chance he could disappear into the man united vortex

Very true, but I think de Jong could be the antidote to Penandes' general poor use of the ball and help them keep possession a lot better by relieving the latter of playmaking duties.

Really?

He could have scored three goals in one game, with one (or two?) of them being called back for offside. Thought he was one of Benefica's only players to show up that game, and he did it while playing as a CF against Matip (who he left for dead a few times) and Van Djik.

Some good flashes in the clip, some raw moments too, but think opinion remains the same for now. One thing it doesn't capture are the nature of his runs which I think he'd need a lot of work on.

Not overly keen on Scamacca but must admit it would be a bit of a guilty pleasure seeing a thug turn out for us

Also shows how not spending last season has impacted both our transfer targets and the prices we are now more likely to pay. In other words not only are we now going to miss out on those players because we are now priced out of the market due to their prices more than doubling in most instances (and the UCL clubs are now getting involved), but we are now looking at paying the same money we baulked at last season for planB/C options.

Meanwhile when reading our transfer gossip the word used is hope, as in we hope to be able to make more progress once the international games have finished.

TBH I don't have much faith we will get it done in terms of completing the rebuild and/or doing it in time to get them to gel ahead of the start to the season. As such we could still be likely feeling our way up to and including the first international break, just as we were with White and Co last season. The strategy of looking at EPL players to be able to hit the ground running is only valid if you enable them to do so.

According to some La Porteria there's a big gulf between Gavi's demands and what Barca are offering him. They also say he has offers on the table from two PL clubs, one of them being Liverpool.
