Agreed, but I would consider those two separate but similar scenarios, both tinged with a measure of desperation. Locatelli because we had no choice since we were actively trying to get rid of Xhaka (or believed he would be gone), and Vlahovic because we absolutely had to get in a striker, and everyone knew it then like they know it now. No point being subtle about it
Right now my bet (hope) is that we are going about our major business with a bit more guile and eye batting than jumping right into full on twerk mode. While there is an urgency to get things done, we still have time and possibly more options this window. And besides at the price being quoted (100m), we have to look at what our priority is, and allocate resources more responsibly. Man U is losing Pogba, and was a real shambles in that area all last season. We signed Xhaka on, so midfield isn't an immediate priority any longer.
