I hear you, but realistically you don’t cheap out on players who helped you win the league, CL etc. This is not comparable to Auba or Ozil. This is a proven winner who is the main reason Liverpool have been so good in recent seasons. It is not that teams have not played well against them, but even when you think you have solved them, Salah just pops up with magic.
You absolutely pay him his money and don’t look back. Potentially losing a 20-25 goal a season player who can unlock a game, is pure folly.
Henry got paid at that age, so did Agüero, so did DeBruyne, so did all those United players of the past.
Liverpool doing this to Salah is just short sighted.
