Also, I agree with your point on media support, but that's a non-factor for me these days, because I just don't really consume any football media anymore, haven't watched a pre- or post-match segment in ages, don't read articles aside from transfer rumours, interviews or orbituaries and I will never watch one of those fucking amazon documentaries. They can wank Klopp and Henderson off all they like, I won't be listening or watching.

Completely agreed. Chelsea and Man City have done far more than anyone to send us spiraling down the table. They are easily the worst of the lot.

Does that mean it would've been ok if Qatar took over AS Saint Etienne since before this season they were the record champions of France? Or Lyon because they were the top dogs in the 2000s?
Liverpool fluking their way to a CL in 2005 doesn't mean anything to me, they couldn't win the league in 30 years and now they only done it because of the investment they got. They were historically big and have a big following but so do Newcastle and I don't think anyone is happy for them really.

The only difference between these classic big clubs propped up by big money (Real Madrid with Perez, AC Milan with Berlusconi, Liverpool with Henry, United's owners in the late 80s) and PSG is that it feels more organic with the former than others. Only "excusing" PSG here by the way since they were already a big club before they were bought in 2011, since the merger of the two Paris clubs in the 70s no club in France won the league more often than they have. City and Chelsea were dogshit clubs before while the less said about Leipzig the better.

You mentioned apathy but I rather be apathetic than angry because one leads to me slowly inevitably further dissociating from this shit - tradition or not - thoroughly commercialised sport, than be angry when big clubs who I hate with every fibre of my being like Liverpool or United win stuff.

Yeah thats a slightly more pertinent factor (manager). Its not necessarily Perisic in isolation that may cause one to sit up. The players they are connected with, the ones they are reportedly pursuing, they last 3-4 they have acquired, they seem to reflect clear identified needs and clear idea about what qualities they want to assort in a team.
