Liverpool won the CL in 2005 and were already one of the two biggest clubs in England by the time the yank cunts came in. The difference between them and clubs like PSG and City, or Chelsea for that matter, is that the latter went from being complete non-entities in Europe at the time, to the biggest spenders almost immediately. They won the lottery, and now City have won 4 of the last 5 league titles. Liverpool were always one of the bigger teams in England, even in their banter years they made the CL every once in a while. City on the other hand were a complete joke before the takeover, more likely to get relegated than win something. They basically cheated. Liverpool just did what every big club nowadays has to do to be successful, honestly don't think the way they're operating is any worse than what we are doing.
Not that I really wanna defend Liverpool, just wanted to bash City, and PSG, because they're fucking shit clubs and I think it hasn't been mentioned enough today. I'm grumpy. Fuck them and their unlimited cash. And fuck RB Leipzig and Newcastle. Burn all of them to the ground. And once we're done with that, I'm happy to do Liverpool next. Or Bayern and Tottenham.
Also, I agree with your point on media support, but that's a non-factor for me these days, because I just don't really consume any football media anymore, haven't watched a pre- or post-match segment in ages, don't read articles aside from transfer rumours, interviews or orbituaries and I will never watch one of those fucking amazon documentaries. They can wank Klopp and Henderson off all they like, I won't be listening or watching.
