United being 'back' would be unbearable and unfortunately I don't think they are a million miles away. They've learnt to be patient and seem to be approaching their problems methodically - attack last summer, it'll be the midfield this summer and then defence the year after. They are lacking depth but I could see them back and challenging within 2 or 3 seasons.

I think next season will come too soon but I expect them to mount a challenge the year after by putting up a 80+ point season.

Sadly they won't be shit for forever.

They haven't fixed their attack in the slightest for the top level. They went into this season an absolute mess and it was only by sacking the latest disastrous handpicked coach that they jagged their way onto Carrick who's now normied his way onto a few unremarkable results under zero pressure. You'd hope no one's taking any credit for how it's all been going behind the scenes.
