He really is a horrid footballer. Nice finisher but it's almost moot in Arteta's "system".

I'm guessing that the lack of saleable assets over the next couple of windows increases the chances of him being sold to raise funds particularly if Arteta is not 100% keen on him. Could bring in at least £30m+ which even if a loss on our initial outlay, is not a bad fee to reinvest in the squad. Would rather keep Pepe as sure there is another level in him, but Arteta will not be the person to make that happen.

Bad at the fundamentals but he can finish. Ødegaard is not playing great so bench him and draft in Pepe by default, essentially.

Who else would it be? Martinelli? No thanks.

Don't know how often players have to turn to shit here before we realise the club is at fault for it. Give it another three months and Martinelli was never looking promising, six months and Partey is overrated and end of the season Odegaard will have been a mistake.

it's painful that we've forgotten how to build a threatening attacking team. even Wenger lost his way towards the end in terms of building a fit-for-purpose attacking unit

I look at Haller kind of like pepe. west ham bought him for a record 45m pounds which seemed a good idea on paper at the time, but flogged him for less than half when it was clear it wasn't working out. problem is I'm not sure we'd see half what we forked out for pepe. maybe 25-30m at best.

Yep … we've still got a way to go accepting how bad things have become, and that includes not talking about Wenger's long paper-over-the-cracks years as if they were a good thing.
