Pepe will be difficult to shift. Big wages and we won't want to take a huge loss on the sale due to the optics of it. Everton would be the most likely team do to something as stupid as spend big on Pepe. I don't see many other teams in the world biting.

if we do shift him we should take a stab and bringing serge home. he's said he's open to it, and maybe we get lucky and he runs his bayern deal down

Replacing Pepe with Asensio would give us even less goal threat. If we are going to try and get a new winger it needs to be someone with even more goal threat than Pepe, otherwise we are going backwards.

'IF' we're following the profile from the summer transfers then I'd look at both Gnabry and Sarr, both in terms of WF and CF.

Don't care what it looks like & we've already taken a shit tonne of hits financially re Ozil & Co = if he doesn't fit the narrative just bite the bullet and get it done & no more fluffing about.

I’m here with you Anzac. If we can get someone who balances better with the team, is smarter with and on the ball, and can provide the same decent numbers Pepe does, we should shoot for it longer term. But in the short term, how do we best work with him. He clearly can be a devastating weapon if harnessed properly. Like a Mahrez or even a Sterling. I guess Arteta is the right coach to work with him if that’s to be the case.

Pepe does not feature well, attempting an average number of dribbles and beings successful less than average number of times.

We already have a lot of players for the wings, Pepe is fighting for his place there as is. It seems to me its not an area we need to invest money in so much as we need to coach our young players to improve there. There really is no point in replacing Pepe unless with a player who's also going to bench one of Saka, ESR or Odegaard. And you may as well ship out Martinelli while we are it too.

Definitely. Might as well spend the entire budget on a CM and a striker next season. Wheatley claims that our next priorities are CM and another defender though.

Thanks for this. I don’t use stats for any claims I come up with, but it’s always nice to know they back up what I’m seeing or intuiting.

Is it dribbles per 90 minutes or dribbles in total? Pepé's total count is bound to be lower since he's in and out of the team a lot. He barely played last season until the spring.

Really a huge contributing factor that. Pépé would have acclimated in a good way in a Wenger side or under Wenger's mentorship, Im wondering. Makings of a good group to combine with next months though, be it off the bench or other.

Always does one too many on the dribble to be fair, but he is a great finisher. Not really similar as such, but shades of vanpersie in that respect.
