That he'd be better than Laca and Eddie doesn't say much, plenty of strikers would've been. The issue is that we didn't buy a great striker, not that we didn't buy Abraham.

I think buying Abraham now considering how many top strikers out there available will be very stupid, but it is something we are fully capable of doing. We seem to want overpriced PL proven players.

Eddie was stuck on the bench behind Bamford for reasons no one but Bielsa understood at the time. The one spot where they did have comparable playing time was for England's U21s, Eddie got 16 in 17 while Abraham got 9 in 25.

Nobody said they are the same level, people are saying Nketiah has shown promise and might reach a decent level if he's given the same playing time that Abraham got, neither being even remotely good enough if we want to start competing any time soon. When Abraham was stuck on Chelesa's bench last season he scored at a similar rate to Nketiah now, he's a fucking donkey and if we pay whatever Roma or Chelsea want for him we don't deserve European football.

Thats not how things work. We could have turned his head and they'd have sold at the same price with no clause.

Yeah it'd be completely in line with buying White and Ramsdale. I don't think we'll do it though. We'd have gone for him last summer if we wanted him that badly.

I agree, would not be the best idea... but are you saying there are a lot of top striker available? Because I feel quite the opposite, option seem to be really limited, probably why these average players are being overhyped.. Coming round too the idea of Jesus if he is not to expensive and we can probably gamble on another younger from somewhere or extend Eddie...

Tammy has decent promise and would have fitted in quite well chemistry wise with Saka, ESR, Martinelli. However, regardless of needing to offload a striker first last summer, I don't think Chelsea were ever going to deal with us. His value was inflated a little then, and probably a lot going forward.

Are there any players of ours that Napoli could use? Feels like only way to pursue Osihmen is with a player swap involved. Maybe Leno.

Napoli has Ospina, don't think they'll want Leno.

In the past they had interest in Pepe but that'll be a hard sell now.

Talk MU have made a bid over e100m to Napoli for Osimhen, and Napoli are looking at Broja as a replacement.

I'm still amazed there isn't more talk re Schick or Gabi as I'd think they'd be cheaper options than most we are linked to.

Damn that's us almost out of the Osimhen race if true. Important to get CL , I figure that's the only way he rejects them and comes to us instead.

Even then ten Hag is more of a 'known' quality as manager, & MU will be more likely to be able to pay him more with a number of high wage earners likely to depart.

More of a planB option who can play across the front line.
I suspect it may come down to price between him and DCL as to who we may pursue.
Same may apply as to our starting CF target between the likes of Lautaro & Jesus - particularly if Dybala joins Inter. We reportedly made an offer for Lautaro last summer so I don't think there is any reason to think we would not still be interested if we regain UCL.

Have seen a report that MC have set Jesus' fee at 40m, and a separate report that Napoli are likely to want over 100m for Osimhen.
If correct that makes Jesus about the cheapest option of anyone we have been linked to and IMO we'd be mad not to pull the trigger, not because he'd be cheap but because he'd be great value for money and any potential saving on fee paid should be redirected towards either another top class WF or CM.
