I put him in the same bracket as tielemans. youngish, epl experienced, decent quality, contract running down and available at a decent price

Feels like jesus has morphed into not much more than a pace merchant and seems more suited playing on the wing. he's already 25. I guess he'll be cheaper since he only has one year left on his contract. Should've went after his replacement Julian Alvarez.

If we're going to waste money on Jesus we might as well back Eddie instead. He's younger and has more goal potential. Just give him a proper shot. This is exactly the kind of signing we shouldn't make. There's no real improvement and plenty of potential downsides.

I'd take Jesus for the rest of the season over Laca and Nketiah.

So yeah, not the worst of signings, but massively underwhelming if we don't get someone special to compete with him.

Jesus as the "established" pro and Isak/Nunez/Gakpo (doesn't seem a CF) would be alright IF we also sign a boss CM. But more and more I feel like we won't see a new CM and will go big on a versatile FB (capable on both flanks) and some slightly underwhelming forward.

Jesus is a top player. You don’t play for Pep for as long as he has without having pedigree.

his goal contribution record has been decent for citeh. as a 2nd option he'd be good depth, but we should be aiming higher

I'm not sure he'd be the back up option considering the sort of wage he'd be on. The more I think about it the more I hope this is bullshit.

He’ll be entering his prime soon. Clever player, brings others in to play, bit of an all rounder. Obviously would prefer Nunez or Osimhen, but Jesus would be shrewd business.

I will go out on a limb here and say that Jesus’s off the ball movement used to be top notch, but not so great with his back to goal.

It depends on how much we improve our possession play, but I think he could be a great signing. At worse he scores double figures for us. At best he rediscovers his hunger and we would have made a blinding signing.

Weary about this one. Maybe as a squad player but I can’t imagine him coming without assurances on starting. That’s not to say he’d definitely flop, there’s potential there to be unlocked in the right team and the right circumstances and I’d take him over the b tier names we’ve been linked with like David and DCL.
