4 in 4 this season.
Yeah, I reckon Auba is still as good as he was, he just needs something to work with. Isak is not a 1-in-2-striker either. He scored at roughly a 1-in-3-rate last season and most of his goals happened during a three-month run of form as usual. That's not to say he isn't destined for great things. He's a massive talent and I definitely think we should go for him if we have the money; he'll probably be world class by the time he's 24-25, but I also watch him regularly for Sweden and I know he needs time to grow. I reckon people would tear their hair out watching him dwell on the ball in Premier League.
Auba has a killer instinct that only the very top strikers in the world are in possession of, and it's lacking from Isak's game right now. In the short term, say the next two years, he's probably going to be a bad option for Arsenal if he's our main option. He won't get us where we need to be on his own. Maybe he'll take another leap in his development this season and turn into a first-rate player in which case we'll have to reevaluate, but there's always a risk with strikers that you end up stalling their development if you bring them in as understudies to someone else. Look at Lukaku for instance who kept coming to top clubs at the wrong time in his career because they bought him too early, and only now at 28 has found a way to apply his talent properly. I reckon the longer Isak stays at Sociedad the better for him.
