Apparently PSG rejected RM's third bid of €200m.

Wow. That's insane. They will be happy letting him go on a free next season.

But we've seen how that plays out. The player and his agent are usually prepared to wait it out, because they'll know other clubs hold an interest, even if they're yet to bid.

Totally doesn't work this way. It's a buyer's market. Can't imagine us waiting to bid for a player if we really wanted them. If we wanted a specialist RB we would have got it done early in the window, like how we were prepared to pay over the odds for White and Ramsdale to get them in early. If not we would have waited till now.

It is and it has.

Whether RB was a priority or not is a Chinley different matter.

Those of you suggesting Royal 'preferred' Spurs over Arsenal, I believe this troll is your source. Blimey.

saliba gets replaced by white and white gets replaced by tomiyasu. brilliant. he learned something from pep when it comes to CBs, keep buying until you find the right one.

Bloke is a raving Spurs fan

Next season we’ll have White, Gabriel, Tomiyaso, and Saliba as centreback options. Excellent pool.

Tomiyaso signing may also free up White to play as a defensive midfielder in certain situations

L'equipe reporting that Griezmann is headed back to Atletico on loan with option to buy.

What a waste of 100 million !

Barcelona are looking to sign Luuk De Jong as their striker now. Supreme clusterfuck.

and only one being left-footed? arteta won't stand for that, one of them has to be replaced by a left-footer.

😆 😆 😆

I like de Jong for what he is, made a lot out of his limited talent, good work rate and unbeatable in the air. He's probably the least Barcelona type of striker I could imagine 😆 whoever could've seen this happen with that prick Koeman in charge

It is possible that some good foundations have been laid this summer. Moving forward a squad with:

GK - Ramsdale, Leno
RB - Tomiyasu
LB - Tierney, Tavares
CB - White, Gabriel, Saliba,
CM - Partey, Lokonga,
AM - Ødegaard, Smith Rowe, Saka, Pépé
ST - Aubameyang

Looks overall like a good young group with lots of quality and potential. Add to that the exciting Hale Enders we have coming through and we could see something good come together over the next couple of years. Whether that's Arteta doing the near impossible and turning the club and fans around or a new guy.

Maybe we have to accept the real head turning players aren't an option right now because it's never happening? I mean it's obviously true, but maybe we have to accept it? And putting together a functioining team with young players that 1) want to come and 2) are fit for purpose with the way we want to set the team up, is the first step to getting back closer to the big boys.

“Agents texting me asking do I know any clubs after a right back” 😆

Yeah, ok mate.

Not many were expecting head turning playing players, guys like Bissouma and Emerson would have done. But instead Arteta chose to spend it all on White and Ramsdale.

Maybe it's time to accept the huge mistake of keeping Arteta on as manager before more damage is done.

Can't then act surprised when we are where we are after all the stupid decisions that have been made.

I'd be okay with going into the season like this:

-------------Leno
Emerson-Saliba-Gabriel-Tierney
-------Partey---Bissouma
Pepe--------Buendia---------Saka
-------------Auba

All for less than what we actually spent.

It's much worse by us if he didn't prefer Spurs but we simply wanted to buy another CB instead.

It puts us in much better shape than we’ve been in for a number of years.

A couple more windows should see us in great shape. Focus to be on getting a striker, central midfielder and another option at rightback.

Well, it's all on Arteta now. He has the international break to get players fit, work on his team with most of them around, and then line up against teams we are better than with something close to his best XI out there. And no Xhaka! Either he brings it together or he will be sacked.

Either way, I think we have had a pretty good summer.

Read that KSE know there isn’t a quick fix to our problems, hence them being patient with Arteta

Will be very interesting to see a team which includes White, Tomiyaso, Gabriel, Partey, Ramsdale and Lokonga. Will definitely be able to work the ball much better

Yup, agree. I've got my eye on Alexander Isaak for next summer. He's the one that looks the kind of 9 I love, with the perfect profile to fit what we would need. An example of a player we had zero chance of this summer, but if, and it is a big if at this stage, we can put together a good season and re-establish ourselves as top 6 club, we might have a chance at next summer.

Yep. I always said wait till the end of the window to judge but now it just seems like we splashed on all the wrong places. At least Tomiyasu is a good signing and value for money in the end.

I now believe Barca were considering Lacazette when they are signing De Jong

Fair chance we will if we can keep Partey fit.

It’s actually better to face Chelsea and City early on whilst we are in disarray because chances out we will have lost those games even with a fully fit up to speed squad.

I don't see it with Tomiyasu at all. I hope these guys know what they are doing while deciding on talent.

These guys have proven they don't know what they're doing over the past 2 years. What makes you think anything has changed since?

Because in terms of individuals - Partey, White, Lokonga, Ødegaard, Gabriel are all players I can get behind. I like that the staff saw it with them. That collectively the squad amounts to a mish mash and priorities, football ideas, all seem very absurd is another thing.

I am struggling to see it with Tomiyasu as a RB talent or even a first choice CB.

Yeah, I told myself this in 2007.

Even if they are right about the quick fix I can't see Arteta as the answer

To be fair that midfield of Cesc, Hleb and Rosicky behind RvP and a Theo Walcott with potential was shaping up well.

Should get at least 5th then seeing as that's where we were 2 years ago.

Arteta isn’t a quick or slow fix. If anything, he’s going make the fix take longer than it needs to be by causing more problems.

Still can't believe how badly run Barca is. Had to let Griezmann and Emerson go because they still can't register some of the other players despite Alba and Busquest taking a paycut today just for the purpose of registering the injured Aguero. Insane.

And we didn't raid them at all.

If we sent Arteta to raid them, he’d probably come back having spent 40m on Braithwaite.

Talking about 40m, can't believe Atleti willing to let Saul go for just 40m euros next summer in the loan option.

Hope we do well enough this year to have a chance to sign Joao Felix next summer. Atleti willing to let him go for the right price because their finance cant take it.

Kolasinac is still here. I find that unbelievable.

Balogun should really go on loan too, to a Championship outfit.

Turkish window is still open for another few days.

Hopefully we will find a buyer for Kolasinac and Elneny and not stay adamant about some unrealistic transfer fee in return.

To be fair, if we sold them at the prices those Turkish clubs were likely willing to pay, you'd still get a tonne of people saying we sold for peanuts and that we're a terrible selling club. All of which may be true but at some point, you have to start changing the perception that we're easy sellers, even if it's a tad painful in the short term.
