That would've been some ridiculous goal by Coquelin. If Emery gets this ragtag bunch of Spurs rejects, Valencia redundancies and a 70 year old Albiol past Bayern we should grovel and ask for him back.
They absolutely destroyed Bayern. Could have scored 4 or 5 easily.
emerys penchant for consistently exceeding expectations with Spanish underdog teams is impressive

The performance itself was amazing but can't help but feel they are going to set it up to bottle it in the 2nd leg now that they didn't take their chances.
Coquelin still a very decent player now

It's utterly crazy but he was hiding behind Ronaldo doing the dirty work far too long and became underrated while the selfish prick stole the limelight and people just looked at the goals.
I can't decide if overall who was the better striker past 10 years though. You have Suarez, Lewandowski up for it as well
It's crazy that Wenger didn't snap him up given his knowledge of the French market.
Emery still doing miracles. What a performance last night from his team. Bayern barely had a sniff.

Did it with a midfield of Coquelin, Capoué and Parejo as well, really impressive. They should have taken their chances though, I'm afraid 1 goal won't be enough to knock those twats from Munich out.
Coquelin still better than Elneny.
The last time bayern lost away in UCL was also against Emery psg.
Tuchel presser surprised me though. First time hearing a manager saying the tie is done with only a 2 goal deficit
He might be playing mind games.
Maybe he doesn't know away goals don't mean shit anymore
I think I hate the Europa Conference League as much as I hate ESL.
Is there really a need for three tiers?

I've never watched a minute of it. I guess it's different for a small team like Union Berlin to get to play in Europe at all and get a chance to qualify for the EL though. I think the Europa League is redundant as well, but I'm guessing jones is very emotionally invested right now 😆
I don't have a huge issue with Europa League, but I think it's ridiculous to start in CL and then drop into Europa.
You should only be in one or the other.
Yeah, that's fucking stupid, never understood why the third placed CL teams get a free chance at the EL.
Bodø/Glimt beat Roma again. Getting ridiculous now.

It's UEFA looking after the Elite if they fail to progress as seen with Barca this season.
My issue with the UEFA comps is that none of them are representative of the domestic comps that the teams succeeded in to qualify. The UCL qualification is based upon domestic league position, but it is only a league comp in so far as the Group Stage and then becomes a Cup type comp that rewards teams able to win the 1 off fixtures as opposed to being able to accumulate points over the season. The old European Cup was entirely a Cup comp for the league winners. The reverse applies for the UEL which is qualified for by winning a domestic Cup, in that it only becomes a Cup comp after the Group Stage, & don't get me started about why the place doesn't go to the beaten finalist but to a team that finished outside the top5 in the league if the domestic winner is already qualified for the UCL.
They are absolutely remarkable. Outplayed high flying celtic too
