He was and is, what a match that was. As Arsenal fans we have no business putting our noses up at the EL, even if it didn't bring a CL spot it's a European trophy which we still lack. It's also the successor to the UEFA Cup which has plenty of lustre, and looking just at Frankfurt's recent history gives you chances to play against teams like Barcelona Chelsea Inter Benfica Lazio Marseille etc, really it should be the EL that's expanded and the CL that's reduced to its original state of just league champions playing each other, would most likely level out the financial playing field.
ECL is the same thing just even more watered down financially, although it probably means the world to teams from smaller countries too. How can anyone find a thing that embarrasses Mourinho for a third time now bad?
It was a great match, shame Barca ended up finding an equaliser and you guys missed a few great chances, I thought Frankfurt was the better team overall. Still not over by any means, Camp Nou will be a different animal though, with your brilliant home support missing.
You reckon Sow could do a job for us? We'd pay good money for him being rich as fuck and all, and he's impressed me over the last year or so. I'd absolutely take him as a squad option instead of Xhaka, but I'm not sure if he'd be quite good enough as a starter, you think he has another level in him?
Support in Barcelona won't be an issue, apparently 35k Frankfurt fans will be there 😆 not surprising given that 300,000 people wanted to buy tickets for the home match. If it weren't for Ramadan I'd 100% be there myself
Sow certainly could do a job for us, I'd even say he has the potential to start for us. Made a huge leap from last season to this one, plays with a lot more attitude and authority on the pitch. Has endless stamina and moves around a lot quicker than Xhaka, he's a bit slight but gets stuck in and has a really good pass on him, even started adding some end product this season. I remember Klaus liked the look of him couple years ago already, he's still a little inconsistent at times in stamping his will on a game but he's a hard worker and wouldn't leave us flat footed as often as Xhaka does.
Couple of reports this season about a release clause somewhere between 25m and 35m. I'd rather he stayed in Frankfurt but if he left of course I don't think he'd be a bad signing for us at all.
