I'm saying it didn't need to be brought up. We've litigated the Martinez situation to death, so when someone shares comments about Leno complaining about being demoted, it probably wasn't that relevant to bring up the sale of a player from a year ago.

Needs to put his head down and get on with it. Can understand why he might want to go on PR push targeted for DfB audience or other, but it comes off slightly insecure to me (even if he's not). Plenty of games as cup keeper to come and its not like Ramsdale is fully secured as starter. Leno hardly seems to speak when he's playing, I don't see a lot of English interviews, and then you just hear these whimpers through rumours and press. Could be better. Furthermore I think we need him. Rather see him leave for less to nothing in the summer, unless we somehow manage to recruit another keeper that comes ready to go from the off.

Would be great to give him some motivation too whenever he gets his opportunities.

Ramsdale is a great signing also because he took the challenge of joining Arsenal at a time when we are in flux like this, knowing all the pressure that must come with our #1, and he settled into his role right away. Gives Leno top class competition too, which is always a good headache to have as a manager. I like what I’m seeing from the kid, and he can only get better.

One of the players making this campaign to date watchable, but needs to improve his distribution and pass through the first line. Don't think any keeper could stop the Edouard goal in my opinion, even if on balanced feet. Unlucky on Partey's gaffe too.

Was not paying full attention admittedly, will check it out. Take it back a little on distribution on as well; he played a nice reverse pass and some decent outs along the floor as he has across the season. The poor moments I'm thinking of from tonight may have more to do with us being pent in.

His distribution is the best I’ve ever seen from any Arsenal keeper in all my time as a supporter.

Put my hands up. Ramsdale's passing is top notch. Hope his actual keeping can reach a similar level but his passing alone makes him a big step up from Leno.

Love that Leno like spread for the one-one-one save, and it was yet another game where he was near fautless with his goalkeeping any time he was called into action. It was his distribiton that was fantastic. It's at an elite level when you look around at other keepers. There were a few rapid long throws that really impressed me too that didn't feature in the comp, and I loved his reaction to losing his clean sheet!

You could see from his first game that it was matter of time before he started going through the gears in terms of his passing. That once he felt more comfortable and confident, and got to grips with exactly how we go about playing out from the back, the superb technical quality he had shown was going to result in very good things.

It'll be a matter of months before Arsenal fans will be able to sing about having "England's Number 1" again. Without question. Southgate may be an idiot, but this kid is too good to ignore.

What a bloody goalkeeper he could very well go on to become! 🙂

Have to say I've been surprised and impressed by his distribution, even though it was meant to be one of his strengths, I hadn't previously seen it in him. And as Ricky said, it wasn't that special when he first got into the team but last night was a great example of what he can do.

He's still a bit rough around the edges but I really like how much more decisive he is than Leno. When he collects the ball, he already seems to have an idea of where he wants to distribute it and actively seeks to release the ball quickly.

Good game from him last night - does feel like we may have all been wrong about him so I'm crossing my fingers that he continues on this trajectory. Very young in GK terms with so much experience already so here's hoping he can continue progressing.

I think Ramsdale is a good example of the danger of really strong opinions being put forward when they're not based on much. We're all guilty of it sometimes.

I'm sure he'll make mistakes and have dips in form, but he's definitely a good goalkeeper. And given how young he is and how much he still has to learn, and the very good fundamentals in his game, which are very easy to see, he's got huge potential.

Arteta knows a player.

It's not just his distribution but in transition the timing of it. He pushes the full team. What a personality he is.

Every manager has their bad picks or short-term/free transfer squaddies etc. Who gives a shit? From my point of view, he has got some really good calls right in terms of the players he's given minutes to and the ones he's chosen to sell/marginalise, and he has been a big part of bringing in some very good players, a number of which have been unfancied by most. He's also building a good team. I don't doubt he knows what he's doing, I just hope he is capable of bringing it all together.
