I love Ode but let’s be careful with this chat.

Ozil was a world class player who proved himself in CL over years, don’t think Ode is WC yet but obviously getting there.

Also Ozil won multiple trophies and a World Cup whilst Ode has won fuck all.

Ode is great but let’s not go overboard as Ozil was a baller in his prime. I know the last few years of Ozil leave a bad taste in the mouth.

With Ozil, I always think back to Cesc saying that he was signed to be the technical leader of the team, but that he might not have it in him. There's no question here about whether Odegaard has it in him, he's got it in spades.

The standout best footballer—that's footballer, not goalscorer, leader, runner, or other—in a squad of incredibly talented players. But fully focused on the overall result. I'm sure the other players love training with this fella. With him as captain we have a meritocracy of football itself, it's underrated.

Now Cesc is a much more interesting comparison. I think Odegaard is starting to hit peak Cesc levels with us. If he continues this for a couple of seasons, he will surpass Fabregas.

Interesting indeed. I feel as though Cesc tended to get on the ball more and influence games more, but Martin carries more goal threat.

Not a fair comparison, Ozil played in some of the worst Arsenal teams (end of Wenger bollocks and Emery BS) in recent memory whereas Ode has played in the best.

Despite that Ozil still helped us to 3 FA Cups. I would be a little cautious with heaps of praise on the likes of Ode when they have zero trophies next to their name in an Arsenal shirt.

I dunno about comparisons with Cesc and Ozil but I do know I've missed watching Santi Cazorla for us ever since he left and this guy is the tonic to that.
