My priority signing for the past two summers has been a creative pass master. Someone who can double up with Odegaard and help us pin teams back and break down low blocks.
We've gone down a different route with a box to box midfielder in Rice which I don't begrudge because he's one of my favourite players but it has put us between a rock and a hard place.
It means that we need to free Odegaard from the right 8 to a more traditional 10 role but also he needs to produce more end product otherwise we simply aren't getting enough goals and assists from midfield.
