With the new la liga season starting on Friday, it is time to start the thread for discussions.

Notable fixtures on the opening weekend -

Celta vigo vs Atletico

Barcelona vs Sociedad

I used to watch Barcelona the most after Arsenal because of all their great players. After that I watched them for Messi, don’t think I'll watch much La Liga this season.

I think this season may do Barcelona a lot of good in the long run.

Honestly speaking most of the top la liga clubs have gotten away with murder in terms of their wages for far too long.

Benzema starting the new season in same vein as last season.

2 goals tonight so far away at Alaves.

Insane match between RM and Levante. 1-0 to RM, 2-1 to Levante, 2-2, 3-2 to Levante, 3-3 and now Levante's GK red card when Levante had used all of their subs.

Levante always show up against the big boys and make it a game.

Atletico pulloff a win in injury time against Espanyol.

Lemar has been very good for them lately. Really has taken to a box-to-box midfielder role.

Complete turnaround from the start of last season where he was struggling on the flanks and looked to be on his way out.

Vinicius is looking like a different player this season.

He always had the unpredictability and skill to burn a defender but now he is looking much calmer and confident in his finishing as well.

Benzema, as usual, was excellent and grabbed a hat trick as Real won 5-2 against Celta Vigo.

Valencia are surprise package so far this season.

Everybody expected them to struggle with the off-pitch/ownership fiasco but they are joint top of the table after four rounds.

Bordalas has completely transformed them into his image and every team will hate visiting Mestella this season.

Bellerin starts for Real Betis against Granada in 15 minutes. Gwan chico.

Guillamon looks like a terrific player. Never heard of him before.

What's L De Jong supposed to be good at again? He can't shoot, he can't head the ball. He tries to run he tips over.

And he's a 31 year old striker who's bumbled around in the lower leagues his whole career, not someone with the potential ability to become great or someone who is currently at the required level.

Can't say I'm not happy at the whole situation though haha. Fuck Barca.

He's terrific in the air normally to be fair to him. That miss is either symptomatic of Barcelona all round this season or him trying to get Koeman fired. Completely useless with the ball on the ground but there aren't too many better headers of the ball around.

Which makes it even more ridiculous Barcelona of all teams signed him. Koeman of course wouldn't be Koeman if he didn't throw his team under the bus talking about how he's supposed to play tiki taka with the players he has πŸ˜† He's really a Mourinho level cunt isn't he.

edit: He actually said tiki taki πŸ˜†

Barcelona wouldn't be Barcelona though if they weren't trying to replace him with someone as bad or worse. The shortlist is apparently Conte, Cocu, Xavi, LΓΆw and Pirlo πŸ˜†

benzema has been incredible so far.

he has as many goals as Barcelona πŸ˜†

Ansu Fati is wearing number 10 now. Gave his comeback today after almost a year out and immediately scored this

This kid is something else. Goes to show there's no such thing as karma or things evening out, Barcelona had Messi now they get a taller version. If he stays fit he'll score close to 20 this season is my guess even with Jabba the Hut managing him.
