Guendouzi was more impressive in that game I watched it. Rennes didn't give Marseille much problems but Guendouzi ran the game totally. Majestic performance.

What's the deal with Guendouzi? Is it a loan with an obligation to buy?

If he sorted out his head and matured, he could become a very good midfielder. Has the tools.

Yeah obligation unfortunately. Its a pity we've been dicking around Xhaka and Elneny for the last year while we had him on our books. At least Lokonga looks like he could be great eventually.

Arteta allowed his fragile little ego to be hurt by Guendouzi and as a result we will lose him for next to nothing next summer.

Gut says Saliba will go the same way. Back here next season - isolated and not given an opportunity and then sent back on loan to France for a low buy obligation. Arteta is a plague.

Saliba is picking up great experience at Marseille, a bigger club than those he played for on previous loan spells.

Looks set to join the ranks a much better player next summer than he would otherwise have been scratching around for minutes here.

The pressure at Arsenal is immense - were he to crumble under that intense spotlight it could be very damaging.

Guendouzi is meh - perhaps we could have got more of a fee for him, but his attitude isn’t a good fit. Has a history on that front too.

I’d rather invest time in Lokonga and Azeez.

You assume that Saliba will join the club next summer and actually put that experience to use. All indications are that he will be loaned out again / sold since his place has been taken by a 23 year old defender who is, by all accounts, high potential. So either Arteta will play out a death match between the two, resulting in one of them being sold for much lower than they were acquired for or, as is more likely, he doesn't like the cut of Saliba's jib having barely seen him in action and couldn't care less how much the club make back when they sell him with 2 years left on his contract and the player patently unhappy.

What’s indicating that? Sounds like pure speculation.

Well no because Arteta has stated he prefers playing 4 at the back, that means next season one of Gabriel/Saliba/White will miss out as there's only 2 spots in a back 4 for CB's. Therefore one will leave as none of them would be happy with sitting on the bench. And CB is an area which requires consistency in selection.

So going by how Arteta has treated Saliba so far, for all intents and purposes, he is going to be sold next summer for Ben White to get his spot in the team. And that is a decision solely by top talent IDer Arteta. He will live or die by that decision, as it has clearly split the fanbase.

i hate arteta so much, moaninho with none of the positives. i wish he was managing spurs.

Just like the mad argument this summer that we shouldn't sign an attacking mid because we have ESR. We need to get into Europe and we need more than 2 CBs to cope with what that brings. Having 3 solid options is the bare minimum, not overkill.

Just me or is an Ar-tetsuo singularity event taking place on OMITT lately? Most lines of discussion are coalescing to a regurgitated grievance with the same piñata.
Guendouzi is out but really hope theres a way back for Saliba next season. Not watching but the stats are very encouraging.

Worry I have for Saliba is that I can't see him signing a new deal before he's certain about getting enough mins, in which case you then have to risk letting a high value asset run his contract down to it's final year. It's a sticky situation whatever way you look at it, the only way around it is probably to overpay him.

Nelson is still not in match fit shape and cant get in the match day squad for Feyenoord.

Feyenoord coach, Arne Slot, had been making some weird comments about our training regime and how its not intense enough.
