Portsmouth are helmed by the Cowley brothers who had previously managed ESR very well at Huddersfield.

the ESR link makes this sound really good. Hope he plays well enough to make that CM position his.

If he has a successful loan we can probably sell him for a few million next summer too. Arteta can already hear the sound of the cash register.

Nelson to Feyenoord is a good move. They have nurtured quite a few talents for us previously, Miyaichi had a great time there. Their head coach Slot have a great reputation in bringing young players through.

Hopefully we can find a good loan for Balogun now that it is clear that Laca/Eddie are going nowhere this season.

He needs meaningful minutes and we are going to offer him nothing by sending him back to U23s.

Saliba is better than Upamecano, Lenglet and Zouma. He should be in the next senior France squad, 100%.

want to bet? because if arteta is still in the job next season then that means he got us back into EUROPE (conference league) and he will be feeling like a bawse. and an arrogant arteta will do whatever he wants.

I like Ballard a lot. Big, strong, fast, good defensive instincts, more than decent on the ball too. It's a big shame he did his ACL when he did. He'll be a proper player, just not sure quite what level it'll be.

I agree that 7th is horrible for this club but it will not be horrible for this squad of players at this moment in time. We are not within a million miles of City, Pool, Chelsea or United. In my opinion West Ham, Leicester and Spurs are better than us as well and have more settled squads. That puts us between 7th and 10th competing with Villa and Everton. There isn't much between the three squads quality wise but we have the worst manager of the three. So it isn't a stretch to say that 7th would be an achievement for this set of players and manager. It's where we are as a club at the moment.

To be fair, all of us including you probably have lowered standards massively. A year ago you would have said anything other than top 4 should see the manager get fired. Now its the EL.

These days we are just happy with any sort of win even without the required performance. A few good passes by our new keeper who isn't tested at all and he's the next big thing etc. It's simple stuffs that make Arsenal fans happy which is sad.
