The Carlos Cuesta bits were probably the worst. Comes across as a great guy but does feel weird him giving the players advice.

Trying to give him the benefit of the doubt, I guess there are a couple of other managers who had a similar start to their career...I'm sure the likes of Morinho and AVB were equally cringe when they started out

I think he plays an important role. At the elite level it’s all about having the right mindset to unlock a sportsman’s best.

It does come across as being cringe but the players are well aware that management are committed to it and if you don’t buy in you won’t last long. It essentially weeds out those who aren’t willing to go the extra yard in pursuit of success

Before all or nothing I wondered if Arteta was telling them to be patient and calm before some of these games due to the non performance, clearly not the case.

In the end I guess whatever you’re being told nothing can really counter the amount of pressure you feel except winning and getting that confidence or even arrogance. And to get that you need to actually do it.

But like what Wenger said about PSG and City re the Champions League, until they win it they’ll always be fighting that mental block.

As mentioned previously, Arteta is captain and manager rolled in one.

When 80 percent of the squad are kids what do you expect? Very few characters in the team or anyone with a personality. Hopefully it gets better as some of them get older.

I've seen the first episode, thought it was like season 4 of The Wire - but with footballs. Looking forward to the rest of it.

The more I hear Patrick Vieira talk, the more I think - yeah... you and Wrighty are my favourite ever Arsenal players and it will break my heart if it goes wrong, but I wouldn't mind you replacing Mikel when the day comes. He just gets it. Or at least, he appears to.

Patrick Vieira has always been a man of passion, assurance and intelligence from his earliest Arsenal days. The interviews he used to give back then were always surprisingly measured, articulate and thoughtful. Great natural charisma and presence.

It's hard to say. The documentary was so Arteta-centric. So we don't really see things from the player perspective. Are the players always quiet?
Also, just thinking of myself, I would not have lost my mind listening to those speeches. He's like there's war in Ukraine, you could lose everything tomorrow. What am I supposed to do? Raise my sword and shield like an orc? Maybe they do that at Spurs.

Yep. I've probably mentioned it before, but there's a bit at the end of Vieira's autobiography where Arsene talks about the differences between Patrick & Thierry Henry and why he thought Vieira would make a good coach - and Thierry was less likely to.

More insight in that passage then there was in the whole of Arsene's book really.

Having been at the Brighton game, I thought that what Arteta told his players at half time was spot on and probably summed up how everyone watching that game would have felt - I couldn't feel the team either.

Of course, he did fuck it by putting Xhaka at left back - everyone knew that was going to be asking for trouble, and it was.

Would be my first choice to replace Mikel if it comes to it. May not be under bad circumstances as City or Barca might one day pull out all the stops to lure him

He's developing the kind of record at Palace that often leads to a chance at a top club eventually. I'd love to see him succeed, albeit certainly not at one of our rivals in the league.

Interesting, isn't it? Both men are inextricably linked with the Arsenal, but strong connections to City too. Wonder which one will end up there first!

City and Liverpool are both facing a Wenger or Ferguson style headache replacing their current dynasties. I'm curious as to whether Klopp will be bankrolled for the squad makeover he seems to be going to need.

Arteta and Vieira would both struggle in either environment at the moment in my opinion.

I reckon they're already starting to build for Peps exit. Halaand is a big part of that IMO.

I finally watched this cringefest and to my surprise Arteta wasn't even the biggest Captain Cringe on the show. That title goes to Carlos Cuesta hands down. Imagine going to work and this guy giving you advice, holy shit. Honourable mention to Mikel for that lightbulb and Josh for his hugs though.

Apart from the massive cringe, I mostly found the documentary incredibly boring. There was almost zero interaction with the players on a human level, we basically only saw Xhaka's home and that was immediately the most interesting part of the show for me.

A shitty failed PR push befitting the garbage club we've become. But I guess it resonates with a certain audience, probably the same people who read arsenal.com's excited tweets.
