Fair enough y.
Not so much root for, and I appreciate the reasons for backing Denmark in this tournament given what they went through and I also wanted them to do well in each game up until today. But I find the actively rooting against regardless of the opposition to be a bit weird. When I’m neutral and there are Arsenal players involved on one side, I tend to root for them although am not usually strongly fussed either way.
Have also found “home advantage” being used as a reason for it somehow counting for less to be odd when there’s always a host nation, and all 4 semi finalists had all their group games at home. I can see the argument that some teams had to travel more, but some countries also got games when they would otherwise never get to host a full tournament. I understand it was a UEFA decision in recognition of the 60th anniversary of the tournament rather than some sort of perceived bias towards England. Also I gather the Wembley round of 16 matches were only added late on when Dublin had to withdraw. I guess it makes sense that the semis and final are at the stadium with the largest capacity, although the pandemic and crowd restrictions wouldn’t have been anticipated at the planning stage.
