Arteta on what would represent a successful season

Our goal is to get the best version consistently that is going to bring us closer to winning football matches. That’s what I want from the team. If we do that consistently in every match we’re gonna be in a good place

Not a word of getting back into Europe like we've been the last 25 years. Only a man supremely confident in his job security could show that kinda lack of ambition at Arsenal

Basically a stock response, no? Pretty much along the lines of 'we want to win every game/we take it game by game' etc.

He has said on several occasions that a club like Arsenal need to be in Europe and winning things if it helps in finding him more lovable.

You do have a point though, it doesn't make much of a difference what he does say. The only thing that matters is he fucks off because we play god awful football under him. I don't even care about the results, we finished outside of Europe which is a catastrophe for a club our size but even then that ridiculous red card for Luiz at Molineux or Laca's disallowed goal vs Leicester don't happen and we're in the CL. He's making disastrous decisions off the pitch, he's playing terrible footy on it - his talking shit in pressers doesn't really move the needle after that, you're right

May not be entirely his fault, but he is part of a team of 3/4 people who are being paid to make these things happen.

Was responding to his responses to all the questions asked in the link posted (wasn't just referring to the headline) - particularly the one about what the goals are for the season. Everything he says annoys me and I am really starting to dislike the man.

As it stands IMO not signing Buendia looks to have been a huge mistake as we look so poor in the final 3rd.

We were busy pushing hard for White at 50m and Ramsdale at +20m.

IIRC we were still faffing around with the likes of Kounde and Tah as our CB options at the time.
White was our 3rd choice and we've paid as much as was being asked for Tah.

Not a good sign that we dipped out on our first 3 target options, took all summer to sign our 3rd choice option at CB, and still haven't signed an AM to replace our 1st attempted transfer.

I don't think we were really in for Tah, I haven't read anything in German media for well over a year and even back then it was name dropping because he said he'd like to play in England. And Leverkusen aren't asking for 50m, before Tapsoba got injured Leverkusen were considering 25-30m from Zenit for him.
