This is literally Kroenke's wet dream: generate sky-high revenues without having to put a penny in.

If FIFA goes through with their idea of banning players from all these team from competing in international tournaments (i.e. World Cup), why on earth would any player ever want to play in the competition or for one of these teams? They would never again get the chance to play for their country.

I mean, I dont, legally, if FIFA could actually do that, but it just seems that no big player would ever agree to this.

I don't see how any court would be able to force FIFA to let ESL players participate in their tournaments. Its literally the same thing the ESL wants to do, they're barring everyone else from their competition. And that's before you look at governmental involvement on that level, really think these clubs bit off more than they could chew

Listen, at the end of the day, this shit is ironic. You have UEFA, FIFA and pl idiots that are more corrupt than most of these owners calling for their heads. They're just pissed that their pockets are getting hit. I don't care for the opinion of those fools. These are the idiots that led us to this mess by opening the gates to sugar daddies. They brought this on to themselves.

I hate the concept of limiting competition and creating a cartel. From a business point of view, it's a clearly thought out good idea. Too bad I don't make money off this team so I don't care.

This is the globalization of football. They don't care for the die hard fans, it's about the new generation of fans. Next thing there will be some Chinese club and some Miami based club in this. It's a revolution in football and we're part of it.

Well I guess the difference would be clubs are paying for these players on a contract, whereas international football is different, they're being selected by their nations.

Would be glorious if this whole thing blew up in their faces. All the clubs involved should face sanctions when they come crawling back, Germany after WW2-style.

I don’t think these super clubs would even want their players going to international games, it gives them no financial benefit and just increases the chance of an injury.

Relative to the others we'll still be bottom of the rung so we will have the 15th best team of the super clubs great. Plus you won't see saka's and Smith Rowe's anymore. Nobody given those players a chance.

There's still the fit-and-proper-person test for starters, isn't there? Should be easy enough to apply that evaluation and make sure no Kroenke or Glazer is ever allowed into a Premier League boardroom again.

Nah, the product has to sell. I wouldn't be surprised if teams were forced to reinvest big percentage of this money.

The product would sell Fans will be excited about seeing the big matches what do they care if arsenal are the poor relations. It doesn't matter the other teams make up for it. That's why you remove yourself from the risk of needing to perform by removing competition. That's literally the point of it.

There is no way these vultures are forcing money to be spent on the team.

They'll be able to control those investments better, and probably get one over the agents as well if all goes according to their diabolical plan. Players will swap contracts and sell shirts for one club, then another. It'll be the best gig in town, financially speaking, so you'll play hard to stay in the ESL. It'll be more vertically integrated and less unpredictable, so the costs will be more manageable.

The idea that they'd stop at 20 teams is of course absurd. They'll want to expand, and expand fast. The 15 clubs that get in early doors will control the whole operation, even if they end up in the minority in the near future. Domestic leagues will become more like a second division to feed the ESL beast.

Would you rather we didnt have that money and played in Europa? And the other clubs like spurs had that money and the ESL? Honestly?

Teams in the prem don't give up when they avoid the drop. I think you're being super harsh on those mid level prem teams. And theirs huge financial incentives to do better through branding,marketing and merch. It's mad to think their isn't. Unless you honestly think the team at the top of the ESL is going to have the same turnover as the team at the bottom?
