The clubs will not participate in European competitions even if they would be allowed to, that is the point of the new league. Sooner or later they will ditch national leagues anyway. Probably they will run their own cup, sooner rather than later IMO.

Bit of everything. Don't think they understood the level of fan backlash. That's lead to government's coming out against them and I think it strengthens the leagues positions. Pretty much everyone involved in the game that can has come out against it. I think they'll have expected criticism but not too much pushback. If they try to launch this in August do you think many will sign up for a new subscription to watch it? Will grounds be full?

I have no idea to be honest. I'll do my part by watching the games through illegal means.. Everything for football's sake.

We aren't improving why is their incentive to improve the team. There is no reason they need to.

Yes, we're a higher tier club, which is kindof the point of this ESL. Doesn't need saying after 5-6 pages in this topic.

With "proper investment", any team shouldn't be bad.

My point is that we aren't high tier team at the moment, but we could be if we invested the reported 200-300 mln in the squad.

We will have a much better team. This is simple. The super league gives us more money AND our guaranteed participation means that we and our sponsors can plan for longer periods, resulting in much larger deals. The next Adidas deal will not have a discount for days we don’t play.

Also in terms of visibility, sponsors care about eyes. I bet wenger as many eyes on a Barca-Arsenal game as on 3 Fulham-Arsenal games. The extra Super League games will make bank.

One concern: fucking Saka, Laca, Odegaard etc are breaking down without an extra 12 games. At some point Fifpro needs to show some cojones

Fa cup and league cup will essentially be under 23 tournaments

Am I missing something because the FA statements clearly said if you join ESL you're banned from all other competitions. Which would make it 18 games in total.

I do not believe it will be only 18 games if half or more of the teams get banned from participating in national leagues. I do think the teams want to leave national leagues and if it is not their decision it is even better for them.

I honestly don't care what the club does next season if this goes through. We might as well be playing a different sport by then, it more or less is in fact.
