Nketiah was slammed for doing that because the team and manager have let the fans down this season. That is also part of what you said in your last post about commiserating each other and beyond that something that happens at every level of the sport.
That aside I agree about the damage that's been done. If this really goes away I actually think it's a good thing as it really pushes the relationship to a brink, can't be a bad thing if people wake up to the nature of this sport and in a broader sense capitalism even if only for a limited time. I talked two friends into ending their Sky subscriptions and pirating footy on the back of this just yesterday.
