Xhaka actually had 3 Burnley players around him. What pass exactly was on for him? His only real option was to pass back to the keeper at serious risk.

Whats really annoying is with an early goal and dominating the way we did we should have been pummelling them. Now we are back scrapping for a win. We should still do it but we make life so hard on ourselves and it has knock on effects to the next few games.

Partey is brilliant for what Arteta wants to achieve. See the first goal. Suck Burnley in. Under a difficult pass by Leno Partey is calm and dribbles out, plays a 1 2 and the pitch absolutely open up for us to attack.

For the past few years without Partey, Xhaka is the one receive that kind of ball. He never turns, he always passes it back again. No point to him at all

Nope and thats exactly it isn't it. You don't even expect him to do anything beyond the absolute basics. He's the Elneny of wingers.

Regardless of how bad a situation Xhaka was put in when it came to finding a pass, worst case he could've easily just passed it out for a corner. No excuses there.

First time pass to Luiz or Odegaard. Failing that, just don't hit it straight at Wood. Not that difficult.

I don't understand those asking why does Leno play it there, we've seen this move multiple times a game for the entire season. It's routine at this point.

A first time pass was so obvious. He could even pass it back to Leno to clear. He saw Wood there and still tried a fucktard pass

Arteta cannot let his team lose their grip on this game. Way too many matches from this season we should have won but didn't; this one can't be another. I've been saying it all season but he's handicapped his team's efforts every time he's rolled with Luiz, Xhaka or Willian. Those guys have probably lost us 9+ points already this season.

This is why I can’t understand why people say Arteta’s had what he needs to play his football. Xhaka is not a Guardiola type midfielder who can facilitate fast progressions from the back

This is what Xhaka is about we all know it by now. If you as a manager continue to put your faith in such a flawed player when they have shown time and again that they will let you down you have to be responsible for that.

Agree Qwiss, this should be a match we have killed by now but again we are on a knife edge because it's the way we approach even these games.

Arsenal and Arteta need to come out and win this game now.

Yep it's by design, it's supposed to suck players on to you and create space elsewhere.

Then Xhaka is the problem, because you can't expect that sort of precision from a keeper unless you have Ederson.

Xhaka doing what he does, but Leno doesn't have a brain when he has the ball at his feet. And it's a big problem. I'm not excusing Xhaka, he's as thick as they come, but Leno has got to be smarter and know his players and read the situation. And even if it's argued Lenk chose the right option, execute better and make it easier for a semi-disabled footballer like Xhaka.
