This. It's common sense, if you're playing a pass in front of goal, play it AWAY from your goal not straight across it. A child could have worked that out

What Leno played was on design. Suck in the opponents with an obvious pass to let them press. That was just sheer complacency from Xhaka after that

I may be wrong but in a repetition you can see that Xhaka made signs requesting the ball to Leno. After all, the guy is a midfielder, Leno could presume that Xhaka will know how to deal with the situation

Leno played it in a short distance at Xhaka’s wrong foot. Watch the play again. I don’t much care for Xhaka, but Leno put him in an absolutely shit position.

That moment towards the end of the half where Luiz picked him out sums him up for me. He has no aggression to him, just stay wide and put in a hopeful cross that gets blocked. Saka, Pepe, ESR, Auba all drive at the defence from there.

...regardless, do you not think Xhaka should be able to do better with that? This is the game we play, if Xhaka has brain farts in those positions then it's on him and not Leno.
