I suspect there is a requirement to sell / loan / make room / reduce the squad BEFORE we can look to bring players in.
IMO it's a consequence of the shit that didn't get done sooner, and it will cost us any progress this season as a team because we are still not fit for purpose. It will ultimately cost Arteta and Edu their jobs & the only question is when.

Supposedly the only thing Arteta is good for is clearing out the dross, but he can’t even do that. If we have 30m to chuck on a backup keeper, then we can afford to just not register players we want out. Just don’t register the likes of Bellerin, Cedric etc and buy their replacements.

But there’s always an excuse with Arteta.

Reckon Chelsea will likely acquire at least one of Kounde or Saúl in the next hours, a depressing thought if it happens. Wouldn't be surprised with a CM push from United and Liverpool as well. Edu on the ropes.

I don't think the gap between us and Spurs has ever been bigger. I reckon only Partey and Saka get in their XI. Unspeakable damage has been done to this club by the Kroenke's.

Boy, oh boy... We are just 3 games into the season, right?!

Well it's more than just three games. It's the fact that they have a coherent strategy and have improved in key areas this summer whilst renewing Son and retaining Kane. We can only dream of that kind of competence from the people who operate Arsenal. I would be absolutely amazed if we finish within 10 points of them this season.

Have you forgotten the mess they made of hiring a new coach? Where was the "coherent startegy" then? Short memories around here on many things...

People turned them down but they worked their down a list and landed on Nuno. It's embarassing from a comedic point of view that they were being rejected but it doesn't change the fact that they moved on from each rejection quickly and got Nuno in relatively early. Since then, they have spent well and retained two genuine world class players despite playing in the conference league. They are miles ahead of us at the moment.

Ended up with their 5th or 6th choice and he's still miles better than our coach. Should mean it'll be very easy for us to improve then.
