I've found it mixed personally, and generally shit going back. I have found Dharmesh Sheth reliable and sensible, but Kaveh Solhekol is a slime ball and a wind up merchant. If you got the info from the latter's socials, you'll note how he carefully constructed the tweet which made no sense as someone has elaborated about our interest in another thread. We would have gotten (and still could) get Emerson even in a player swap if we wanted it enough to pay the fee.
Just to add and this is more towards Tambourine Man's statement: Spurs were linked with Ben White, Aaron Ramsdale, Lautaro Martinez, and Tammy Abraham in this window and the months leading up to it. Just saying, two of those are at Arsenal now, and two expressed a desire to be.
