I'd be tempted to give Saka the game off against City too if I didn't think it would impact his great form. I think only Leno has played more minutes for us this season.

Even though it's probably not the wrong idea. We can't do that,he'd be fuming and it'd send out the wrong message to the rest of the team and fans. But I 100% get what your saying he'd get the rest he needs and we'd probably get the same amount of points from the city game.

Yeah you can't stop using players when they perform well. I think we're gonna have to start hooking him early in a few games though.

Yeah thats the thing. Players want to play these games and you can't exactly expect belief if you turn around and say "we aren't good enough to get a point there anyway".

Yeah, especially games like Leeds and Southampton where we have a two goal cushion and you have the likes of Pepe, Martinelli and Willian on the bench.

On the other hand he's not exactly looking tired and he benefitted from not having to play in the group stages, but it would be nice to keep it that way.

I'd start him today and against City. Hopefully if things go well tonight we can rest him in the second leg.

tbh doesn't feel big to me. The Citeh game feels "bigger". No doubt this is the more important match though.

It feels like the first one in a while that actually has big stakes, probably because we've been so far behind in the league and kept losing even during our good run. I didn't think I would but I'm getting excited about it too.

Does also say he wants Willian to do well but of course he'd want that for everyone.

Rumours we're edu is a huge fan and wanted him the year before. We really lacked creativity and willian was supposed to provide it. I said at the time his final ball was poor and pace is his pain assest. So it was never likely to work out. But every punit seems amazyed it hasnt worked out so maybe their was more to his game i hadn't realised thats gone now.

Odegaard has been brought in to replace willian and provide what he was supposed to. We just need to pray some american or china team will take willian for free.

As expected, Arteta's other remarks today suggest Willian's been killing it at Colney. He's been so shockingly bad in game though. No excuse for such a drastic supposed drop-off.

He's just a big name. He was never all that amazing for Chelsea and we bought him at 32. It was never going to work out, he hit a purple patch last summer and was on penalty duty so he got hyped up again but he's been bang average for years. People filled in the blanks then with shit like creativity, when was he ever a really creative player? He was a rotation player for Chelsea for years ffs.
