Well would you rather people did not post at all? It's a coping mechanism to dissect the garbage he's giving interviewers because there's nothing else to discuss really. A coping mechanism? Twisting every comment as far as possible to add negative connotations. It's just whipping yourself up into an angry frenzy for no reason. Not sure that's a coping mechanism it's just making yourself angry. There's tons of blogs and journalists that'll do this because it makes them wealthy. The reason it's not a coping mechanism is because anger makes people feel good for a very short period of time. That good feeling last such a short period of time so that you need to keep getting angry. That could be reading the mail daily and getting angry about immigrants all the time. Or taking sentence fragments from artetas interviews and making something of nothing to get angry about.

Cmon mates, it is not necessary to evaluate each word of Arteta, his statements are clearly ridiculous and show stubbornness, mediocrity and refusal to accept responsibilities.

In any case, with or without statements, he is a mediocre manager that will only bring us failure and involution. I am angry at him and at the club, and I feel that it is a legitimate feeling. I follow Arsenal since 18 years ago(I was 12 at that time) and I have never felt that the team was a complete laughingstock and a mediocre one. This is happening now and it makes me angry.

I think that's an interesting point - a lot of fans in here have never experienced us finishing this low. But it happens - in 95, we finished 12th.

Now I'm not saying that that's reason to be passive about all of this - I find the state of the club quite depressing right now. But my point is every club goes through these phases (SAF inherited a team that finished in the top four for the five preceding seasons but in his first five seasons, their average position was 9th). Therefore, I don't want impatience for success to supercede a very real (and lengthy) need for serious change - I think it will lead to poor decision-making.

Well that was the season we sacked Graham for taking bungs. After that we went to shit. We did however get to the CWC final that year. So arguably still better than this season. And we weren't stupid enough to make Houston the permanent manager after that either.

...and then we eventually appointed Wenger (not forgetting Rioch). So hope that we can make the right decisions rather than just quick ones! 😃

I hope we can make the right decisions too. Imagine if we'd missed out on Wenger because people felt Rioch needed more time or that Houston had to deal with some less than ideal situations while he was manager.

I wasn't being literal mate no need to go all Freud. The difference between your reading Daily Mail getting angry at immigrants and this is one is twisting reality to suit your particular needs whereas with Arteta nobody needs to twist anything to make shit look worse than it is. We're playing claw your eyes out type of ugly football, we're worse off than under Emery in absolute terms and we're bumbling towards our first bottom half finish in living memory. This after signing Partey a world class player in his prime and the most promising Hale End batch in ages. Last summer I was sceptical about Arteta but I was generally upbeat about our chances because I rate our squad that highly. Would it be that much better if people repeated ad nausea how he's underperforming instead of any specific soundbite where he comes across as a dickhead.

Likewise, where would United have been if they'd sacked Ferguson after finishing 11th?

Different circumstances back then though, before Bosman and before football clubs turning into public limiteds and such. Fewer hierarchies and dependencies. Ferguson wasn't doing horribly for a United manager and United weren't the club they are now.

At the end of the day we have both a club and a team on the pitch that is malfunctioning, and there is no evidence to suggest Arteta will be able to reverse our fortunes. Waiting another four seasons to find out seems ludicrous.

Getting the right manager is difficult. We'll probably have to go through a few more to get it right. No need to wait then. Sack Arteta and get on with it.

It won’t take much to improve us. Arteta will go in to next season with more experience and players better suited to his style

yeah kroenke is probably looking at tetball and saying the ideal players for this system probably doesn't cost much and i like that.
