The worst thing about a run like this is that you get a lot of shit takes like how awful our football is, we're finishing in the bottom half (modified version of getting relegated) etc. In reality we've got 1 point from 9 and our worst performances ranged from very good to decent.
We were only good against Wolves, today was not a good performance. You could tell from the first 5 minutes we weren't sharp enough.
We were decent today given the circumstances, got into a lot of good areas and had a few half chances, things were just not coming off and a few players had off days. When you concede within 2 mins against organised opposition you've basically made the challenge doubly hard.
United was good performance against a team in a much better place than us right now.
The same features that saw us go 7 unbeaten and on that winning run are still apparent. I was telling my nephew after the United game that the issue in maintaining this run will likely come because we're relying on two kids to keep our attack going and they're inevitably going to take a dip. I was wrong, it's guys like Luiz and Cedric that can't be trusted not to let us down.
