Some context stats regarding Arteta's luck thus far:
We've hit the woodwork 11 times this season (more than average), have had more own goals than any team (3), and have been awarded more red cards than any other team (5).
We've got 3 goals from penalties, which is about average (manU and Leicester have scored 5 and 8 respectively).
On the lucky side we have conceded less goals from penalties than the typical premier league team.
And as I posted in the match thread if we hadn't cocked up in those 4 games re the red cards, we'd actually be sitting somewhere between joint 6th if we'd only drawn the 2 games we lost, and joint 2nd if we'd actually won them all.
Shitty thing with 4 of those red cards is that 2 came from off the ball incidents, 2 were from in-game brain farts that were a lack of concentration/discipline & unnecessary errors, and the last was for 2 quick yellow cards.
That we had just possibly played out best half of football under Arteta is a backhanded compliment under the context of the game when we lose our undefeated streak, but hopefully it also means we can put the result behind us and continue to improve going forward.
IMO despite the result we are still in the mix for PL UEL places at the very least, and UCL/top4 if we can regain momentum quickly.
