I mean that's a pretty damning indictment of Arteta. The only time he can get the team to perform is when he abandons his own managerial approach and then rather then learn from it is so inflexible that he can't accept he's probably going about things wrong.

With the exception being if he wins the Europa League, he will surely be sacked at the end of the season.

Among other factors:

When fans get back to the stadiums, managing the team is going only to get tougher
Backing him with Thomas Partey hasn't gone well for whatever reason. Owners should be considering whether further big signings may flounder under his stewardship.
The Super League fiasco has brought greater spotlight on owners and magnified by our declining fortunes. New manager may deflect attention.
Players were initially inspired by the possibilities after an end of season run that led to beating Liverpool, Man City and Chelsea in quick succession. Nothing similar this time round and seems more unlikely that he will be able to lift them again going into next season.

If ETH goes to Sp*rs, what's our set of choices and who do we want from those? My top 3 (realistically) would be Rangnick (who can transition to DoF slowly and sack Edu), Kovac and Potter (in that order).

He's after signing an extension with Ajax. I don't think Spurs is a very attractive prospect right now.

Arteta is losing it but I remain skeptical of most of the people who seem to be available. Sacking him now would probably result in Bould taking over.

Our performances are much worse than the level of our players should suggest. Before we fix that, there's no point doing anything on the transfer front.

Also, we have to reshape our objectives. The mess generated by one decent but not good enough manager (Emery) and a mediocre one has taken us several steps back. Our short term objective is to return to be a top6 team. I mean, to still deserve to be considered as a "big 6" of England.

There is so much work to do.

Allegri only works if the squad is filled with quality, and I’m pretty sure he’s only interested in clubs in the CL.

Exactly, after 2 or 3 years, he isn’t going to sit around saying he will wait for the perfect job. Unless he really wants to go back to Juve and Pirlo’s race is run. The more time we waste, the further we erode the ‘brand’

We should go for Ragnick , Kovac seems to have redeemed himself so could be an option . Not too sure about him but he is a definite improvement on Arteta.

So what? I want the misery to end and going out there and taking anyone with a pulse is will only prolong it in the long run.

Me too. He's cringe but he's the kind of guy who makes it work with what he gets. If Arteta can get a CL place ready for him we have a great foundation.
