We've had enough time to appraise where he's at right now and is clear he's nowhere near good enough for this level. It's not really his fault, any credible owners wouldn't appoint a total unknown to be manager at a team with lots of issues to address.

I have no confidence in the owners but if they had any understanding this should be the end of the road.

Edu doesn’t have the power to fire him. And I don’t know if Josh is the football guy or has trusted Edu with everything.
But we could be in a tricky situation where we are stuck with a manager who isn’t quite ready while Josh runs around with the Nuggets and The Avalanche.

If I were Arteta I’d tell them to go out and do everything to score a goal in the first 10 mins. Sounds simple but that’s all it takes.

Yeah, the manager / head coach is responsible to transmit this energy. We turn up in most games more worried about conceding it seems. It has got to be coming from the manager. 2-1 is a very decent result away. We should be confident about a favorable result at home. That's in theory though. I won't be surprised if we are concerned about giving up the away goal we scored rather than pushing for the goal ourselves. I used to worry about his intent but looking at our limp attacking performances for nearly 18 months, need to really ask if Arteta can unlock more from the players.

Tonight was shit but we always seem to have one shit result in Europa League KO stage under him. He also has shown he can get a result when he/we absolutely need it as well so let’s see what the second leg brings.

As I said after first leg v Slavia Prague, 1-1 better result for this Arsenal team than 1-0. Tonight 2-1 is better than 2-2 as now we have one focus and one focus only - no stuck in the middle shit.

Most painfully predictable thing about all this is that by the time we decide make our move, only Freddie will be left as an option.

It isn't of course, it's simply ridiculous. There are no outcomes now that sends us through that wouldn't send us through if we drew the game, while the opposite isn't true.

I think sicsrio is talking about the fact Arteta react better to losing as it forces his hand to go out and attack which suits this team natural self more than when they are always asked to be cautious and defend

He is talking about that, but then would it also be better to lose than to win the first game then?

If we have a manager that have a smaller chance of going through with an objectively better result then that's a massive criticism of him. Even I don't think that's the case and Sicario actually seems to like him so wouldn't expect me to defend Arteta from him but there you go.

A conservative manager's approach to a game needing to win 1-0 is no different to needing a 0-0 result.

I can't believe we have the easiest path to a final that I've seen in 20 years and we're still messing it up. The performance level is so incredibly low in this Arsenal side. We're good at nothing. We draw confidence from nothing. We would have been knocked out already if it weren't for Leno and Saka.

Part of the problem is Arteta is unnecessarily a tinker man. I understand him fixing us for one or two games when we didn’t have Tierney. But Xhaka is a liability at left back. And we lose that strong double pivot in midfield. Additionally, yesterday we kept getting systemic failures in the left with Ceballos, Xhaka, Mari. Mari isn’t a great defender, but he’s not bad. He was exposed by what was happening ahead of him.

We would’ve been better served by sticking to a traditional 4231 with most of the players in their strongest spots. Only the left back would’ve been a compromise in Cedric. And if Auba is fit enough to come on and take our best shot, start him.

Exactly. I mean if we manage to go to the final and win it miraculously I don't care but our performance level this entire cup run is horrible bar the away win at Prague. Nothing is positive
