we just feel like so much less of an actual football club in 2022 than we felt even a few years ago.
i know its pointless to romanticize about the past because of how corporate and soulless the entire football landscape has become, but it feels like we are completely empty now. its not just the move to the emirates that did a lot to suck the charm out of the club, its that we've abandoned our identity as an attacking club. we play some of the worst, dour football in the league. football that we used to expect to see from the burnleys and boltons of the world. now its us. creating 1 or 2 actual chances a match.
we have an unqualified cone man managing the first team. we continually come up short even when things seem to favor us. and we've fallen miles behind liverpool, citeh and even chelsea. the invincibles was almost 20 years ago, but it might as well have been 200 years ago.
