Said it in the other thread. His team selections and tactics are showing worrying signs. I don't know what he's doing with esr now that odegaard joined, feels like he's just throwing him into the mix. Pepe must have something on him, I keep hearing justifications but they all reek of non sense to defend artetas style (or lack thereof). Auba and saka keep saving his bacon.

The fact that he keeps using the most average and safe of players (like elneny & willian) speaks volumes

It’s clear what he’s doing. He’s trying to build a possession style of football but the pieces aren’t quite fitting accurately. We all have our favorites that we want to cram into his squad but I don’t think they fit into his vision. This is the problem with a transition. The coach has come in and found a Frankenstein squad built by two different DoFs and 2 managers , and he’s trying to pick pieces to play his possession / pressing style. So we are frustrated that our favorite players don’t align to this.

It will need time to gel. Hopefully, Partey is back because he is vital to both the possession and pressing. I think Saka, Odegaard, Auba and ESr need more positional fluidity That will help with movement

He is not the answer I feel. His style will never be what we want to see here at Arsenal and that's a shame. Even in winning tonight I was disgusted by the way we approached the game and our style of play. We have the talent to play much more attacking football. Under Wenger people said we were naïve and too attacking thus compromising on results. Under Arteta, the results are shit and the football is shit. Am not exactly sure what the upside is tbh.

Since Christmas we are 5th in league, and top 4 in both goals for and against. Even with those disappointing Villa, City and Wolves results. His trajectory is fine in a season with disrupted personnel.

I think he has a lot to learn about in-game management. But setting up to manage teams, he overall has that. The team seems healthy again with Dani, Partey, Gabriel and Tierney back. Time to do damage.

Claudius, if we analyze results (i.e. points) the conclusion is clear: after 25 matches, we are 11th. Yes, we have improved a little, but that was from very bad to mid-table decent.

But not only results are disappointing, performance is very worrying. Today's match seemed like we made a big achievement winning... against Benfica. A team that couldy easily be relegation fodder at the premier league.

We are just delaying the inevitable. Chelsea sacked Lampard after a win, if we were smart we would do the same thing.

What's more encouraging is that we've done it mostly without Partey and partially without Tierney and Auba and have been playing pretty well, including glimpses of some of our best football in the last 2-3 years.

I've got high hope for the end of the season if we can keep these guys fit. I've a feeling we're going to see some of our best football since the Wenger days.

Having watched a full day of football I feel a little for Arteta. The only person in the league giving us anything close to Dom Perignon football is Guardiola. Everyone else is serving up variable proof home brew. Hopefully, we build a foundation for effective and attractive football, but what benchmarks are we measuring Arteta against?

Whilst I do agree with general sense on the teams I think it's not great that we are so far behind some of those teams at the moment. Like 13 points off United Or 8 points off West ham.
