See I've not a problem with telling people to get lost when you have not really done anything. But that wasn't what happend to Xhaka. That was a game he had been terrible and we needed to get a result and he was slowly trudging off having been subbed. To me that's a really poor attitude, you know the team have been poor and you've not been at your best just get off the pitch that's the thing to do. But he's mindset he's unable to see that he had underperformed, never his fault always someone else's. No responsibility or accountability so it's all about his own ego.
That's just not a great character trait for me on its own and then the fact he totally went against the fans and the club with the way he threw the armband down. That's someone who should never play for the club again I'm my view.
I can't see anything admirable in the way he behaved and he's not good enough a player to put up with. I'm not convinced he does give 100% but if he truly is then he shouldn't be at this level even more based on what he does. People often tolerate some of these aspects in top quality players but xhaka is miles away from that so has no redeeming features.
He's probably for me based on his all round character the player I have disliked the most playing for the club. He's toxic, lacks football quality and it's very self centered and unable to take responsibility for his faults.
But this is the kind of person Arteta is happy to place hours trust in.
