I found it quite interesting how virtually all the former pros back Arteta on this, because they more than us would know about the dynamics of the dressing room. Auba was dropped after two really bad results and I feared the worst in how this could pan out, but the players have all reacted very well, culminating in a series of our best performances. No sign of the mass revolt that a few on here openly wished for.
I agree, I think it's necessary.
But like with all things, if you're not doing well then the narrative will inevitably be 'who the fuck are you to be banishing the clubs top scorer?' Pep on the other hand has enough clout to banish Yaya because his agent said something mean. Results and performances are key to be able to do stuff like this.
