To be fair, that was pretty smooth. I find him much more interesting to listen to when he's a little riled up.
I've heard older Arsenal fans talk about Arteta reminding them of George Graham, especially when he first arrived and was rebuilding the club. I definitely see the comparison from what I've seen of Graham down the years - more from his latter managerial gigs and from his punditry.
I saw this a while back and it feels like Arteta would be similarly cold and calculating in meting out his punishment:
But, whatever the similarity or not - or whether that's a good or bad thing - I love that he is demanding the highest standards at Arsenal. That he won't tolerate players taking the piss out of the club, and mostly that he understands that Arsenal is not just any old club.
People will disagree I'm sure, but I'm really glad he's here.
