We all know that he is going to be sacked, the problem is when. The Kroenkes + Edu are more than capable to persist with Arteta until october or november. This will have a long-standing negative impact on the club and team.

I believe that even if we are reasonable we cannot rule out that the consequences of Arteta's tenure could even include becoming a truly mid table club for at least the following 5 years. He is basically destroying everything.

There is no way things are being overblown at the moment, these are very common signs of unrest behind the scenes, now spilling over to the pitch.

The question for me is how we prevent this total collapse from happening with the next person in charge. And for me that question must be addressed decisively now, with proper professionals coming through the door next.

We need Edu and Arteta to walk, Vinai too if possible. Bring in proper pros to start the rebuild towards some sort of European competition again.

IMO another area of concern as to why he should go sooner rather than later, is the impact this drama is having on our Academy players.

Yes Saka and ESR are examples of being able to break into the match day squad and starting line-ups, but we also see the mishandling of likes of Willock, AMN, Nketiah who are being used to generate revenues because of an inability to sell our deadwood for 'value', or to loan due to personal terms. Not only are we selling our 'future' (even if only as squad players), but in doing so we then need to replace them with HG so as to meet HG numbers required. Whilst White and Ramsdale mitigate the numbers to a certain extent we are still left with the original issue = the deadwood.

IMO the current crop of Saka, ESR, AMN, Nketiah, Willock and those following like Balogun are the one bright spot we have at the club of our own making, however at this rate they'll become victims of this scorched earth approach.

We have the precedent of Emery and also the decision to not sack Arteta last december. They have not learned at all, they will just wait until we score 6 or 7 losses out of 9 games. Also, I would bet that first they will sack Edu so Arteta will have additional time.

AMN would be smart to just hang in there and wait. Arteta will be gone soon.

Optimistic I think, the danger will be that they sack Arteta and never get around to sacking Edu.

Not sure if that's true always but it definitely is in this case. The fact that nobodys expecting Edu to sack Arteta - not even because he doesn't want to but because no one thinks he could if he did - tells you all about the retarded setup at Arsenal

The worst thing is we lived the problems of having a manager type figure running everything at the club and went heavily in the other direction after Wenger's departure, so to go back to that formula with someone as inexperienced as Arteta was such a bizarre move.

I think I said at the time it would either be great or terrible depending on Arteta and it's unfortunately turned out to be the latter.

Morale feels like it's at its lowest ebb in my whole time as a gooner today, it's stomach-churning. I keep expecting the rumour mill to reveal yet another player is desperate to leave before the stone door grinds shut on Wenger's Tomb.

100%. We'd been crying out for a DoF for so long, something Gazidis was actually right about. And then as soon as he leaves, the internal hierarchy goes to shit.

Was sceptical of Arteta being promoted to manager and can't help but feel it's part of the problem we currently have - if Wenger needed to delegate, then I would think Arteta needs to as well.

Feels like he became too involved in scouting, too involved in recruitment, context negotiations...I mean honestly, who in the club is doing a good job right now? Even our youth setup seems chaotic. There's not enough experience at the club and it shows.

Yep as much as I think Arteta would probably never have worked out giving him that extra responsibility was a massive mistake. Reports say he had all that responsibility before the title upgrade anyway but that just speaks to there being a hole in the leadership structure at the club and Arteta probably felt he had to fill it.

Someone needed to be above Arteta saying you have to keep Saliba, you can't sign an old busted Willian to play ahead of our record signing, you can't just ostracize players for things you don't like, etc There has been no one to save him from his worst decisions.
