Madrid fans booed virtually every player they ever had for a prolonged time Casillas Bale Ramos or Cristiano. Milan fans booed Maldini. We're not any better considering Eboue and Gervinho but we're sure as shit not special in any way.

The fans in the Emirates has been piss poor long before social media. Its what happens when you hike prices up and cater to tourists and the posh crowd. No one says we have a great support, just that we're no worse any other Prem club.

I'm not suggesting other fans aren't negative. I'm saying it's clear as day arsenal fans extra miserable about their club. Theirs been a million and one super negative posts here this year and people want to pretend it's not a thing.

I live up north so I meet fans from all over, I can safely without a shadow or a doubt confirm the arsenal fans are the most miserable bar maybe Newcastle fans recently. They've been though a lot more than us.

Even during the invincibles era fans complained about players like Edu, Parlour, Lehmann, and then how we were too elaborate in our play and wanted Jeffers as our fox in the box etc. Didn’t affect our pull because we were winning.

It’s only being highlighted now because of our deficiencies and as a distraction. Also didn’t seem to affect players lika Auba, Partey, Pepe and others signing for us.

Everything has a weight not an on off switch. Can having a negative atmosphere at the ground make it harder for younger players to develop, absolutely will some still develop absolutely. But you could see with the later Wenger years as the negativity grew he was unable to pick some players and younger players stopped progressing as they can't play with any freedom. Despite the fact they're working with a manager like wenger who's key skill is player development.

So yes we can sign players but we had serious problems both signing players and keeping players. Who dreams of playing in front of moaning miserable fans? And when you boo players from my experience you loose all their friends in the changing room. Especially younger players who's game is a bit basic the players **** hate the fans when they boo those guys.

You have your cause and effect backwards there. Wenger didn't fail because fans booed, fans booed when
failed. Whats more they allowed him to fail for over a decade years before they took it out on him. No other top sides fans would have shown that level of patience.

I honestly believe Arsenal fans have had it just about the hardest. Yes, it's all relative, but the same shit every year for 10 damn years?! Hard to stomach. I think Arsenal fans were very patient for a long time, considering the rate at which we dropped. And continued to drop.

Yeah I would think Arsenal fans have been incredibly patient. The players had it very easy even when they are underperforming, compared to most of the other top clubs. For the amount of resources we have and expectations the fans have been reasonable with their criticism and not OTT like Madrid or Barca fans.

We performed on par 4th or better every single season and the fans were loosing there minds (eventualy we came lower but they'd lost their shit already). And then invited an owner in who promised not to invest with open arms to cement their postion under the top 3 for the forseeable future. That's not being hard done by. They'd lost any and all sense of perspective.

Not all fans behave and react the same. The Arsenal fanbase was incredibly divided, lots of fans were pro-Wenger and would show support in the ground to drown out the boos.

I was regularly roasted for defense of wenger. The guy had strenghts and weaknesses like eveyone else. I wasn't hysterical about him at any point. And I gave him a lot of support for the things he done well. I never twisted everything he said into a massive negative to get myself wound up and help create a cloud of negativity.

everything is playing out as it's supposed to apparently. slipping behind the likes of spurs, Liverpool and Leicester was unavoidable in hindsight. I've no issue if someone just prefers to accentuate the positives, but casting everyone else as being overly negative at the same time, especially in the wake of the disastrous season we've just had - that's also 'toxic'. toxic positivity is real people
