In hindsight Wenger was a genius, even in his shit years. Proves conclusively that the grass is not always greener.

he was certainly good at healing self inflicted wounds, until he wasn't. any implication he should've stayed on because the grass isn't always greener is nonsense. his removal was necessary, the real frauds hid behind his skirts for years on end and he was complicit in that arrangement. he arguably should've left years earlier
Wenger could've and should've left any time after around January 2011 in my opinion. He was a brilliant technocrat whose methods were overtaken by the competition, and who turned out to lack the mettle to lead us to victory when good opportunities arose. His touch with man management did put a floor on our decline and allowed us to avoid long streaks of bad results for many years, but his fixation with keeping the job and doing things his way didn't do us any favours.
We will do better than we're doing once reality sinks in, but the whole Arsenal community—owners, Board, executives, manager, staff, squad, fans and random Australians who post on forums—needs to accept this club for what it is today and recognise that we're in a scrap just getting back to 8th place next season.
