Yeah, they seemed annoyed by Emery getting the job ahead of him, which was weird regardless of how Emery panned out.
To be fair to them I think most fans were behind Arteta getting the job too so they're not really any different. Go back to the announcement thread and you have a couple who were outright against it, a few weary and many others fully supportive. In reality there's no point talking about what an odd choice Arteta is without looking at the alternatives, and the alternatives mentioned at the time were largely uninspired. I would have gone with Poch myself at the time, but I was ultimately fine with the Arteta gamble and am still on board with that level of risk taking.
My main objection is that we don't have a proper football man in place to make the assessment on whether or not it's a risk worth taking, to judge whether or not Arteta is the real deal. We have Josh (I'm not convinced by Edu or how much influence he has) and hearsay. This is a problem regardless of how much experience the manager has.
