Makes sense, Goon. His agent would also receive a transfer commission and possibly be more amenable to an extension for Balogun. I do suspect we will have to choose between the 2 sooner or later.

I'm a Nketiah fan, but you have to transfer him if we can get 20m+ (in these times) and sign Balogun.

In regards to player fees I suspect Brewster went for 20m+ more to do with timing in an ongoing and increasingly depressed market.

Brewster was sold before the COVID 2nd wave that everyone was hoping to avoid. Now the 2nd wave is here the market continues to lose value. Yet another example of our poor decision making and consequences in failing to achieve the clear out last summer.

We should sell Nketiah to West Ham. They have at least £20m from the Haller deal. We should try push for £25m.
Nketiah is in a great place. He was our leading scorer until 2 weeks ago. He dominated Europa. And he leads England juniors. That is all going to change. We won’t play him much second half, as Europa games will be tougher. And after this summer he needs to graduate to senior England team, which is unlikely to happen with the all the talented forwards there. He’s at his peak.

Keep Willock. Loan Nelson. Willock just needs guidance on a primary role and the key responsibilities of that role. Remedial coaching, which he might not get elsewhere

The fact that Balogun wasn't in the squad yesterday and the reporting from Ornstein etc about him negotiating with a foreign club strongly suggests that he's off. No way should we sell Eddie under those circumstances. He should go on loan and then we can have a better look at what needs to be done in the summer. Some patience and longterm planning is needed right now. These kids cost us nothing. Everything they contribute with has been free from a market point of view.

We can’t turn down £25m - £30m for Nketiah even if Balogun is off.

Give TJJ a chance. Nketiah is good but I don’t see him ever being anything more than a super sub, somewhat like an Inzaghi type. And with that kind of money we could get a bonafide starter striker.

I guess if we sell both him and Lacazette, we have many degrees of freedom. We should be able to raise 40-50m depending on what we get for Laca. That gets us a top starter. Agree that Nketiah is unlikely to be a top 6 starter.
