Any rumours about clubs on the continent wanting to pay decent money for Pépé after his good end to the season? The links to Sterling and Mahrez, however spurious, suggest we might have a plan to sell.

Doubt we’ll be selling a player like Pepe at this time, and we shouldn’t be. I tend to look at Pepe’s career trajectory at all the clubs he has been and see a similar trend of starting slow and then exploding by his third season, so I feel we are right on the cusp of reaping the dividends of our investment.

What don’t you like about him?

Interesting thought.

Consistency wise, Mahrez would be better, but Pepe looked like he was coming into his own a lot more.

I would not sell unless we got what we paid for him, which is highly unlikely.

Any club that might be looking to sign Pepe at or around the price we paid for him isn’t going to be a west ham or crystal palace level club. It will be a top club looking for a player who can take them to the next level.

So why would Pepe be good enough for them, while we are trying to flog him off, only to get another player in who may or may not settle in here for the next year or two and will probably be on stupid wages in the case of City players?

Pépé is showing encouraging signs. Hard work and trajectory. Plus the ability to catch, clean and cook up a meal for himself

Pepe was brilliant in the PL once he got a run in the team. Replacing him with a 30 year old Mahrez would be insane.

I didn't like his attitude when he was here either. Doesn't mean Arteta Edu and that other bloke we got for the sole purpose of managing loanees have any right to leave him in limbo like this. He could just give the boss a phone call, and if the boss asks him to wait, he waits?
Otherwise just ask for a transfer.

Seriously though what don't you get? You don't understand that the club has the responsibility to inform the player of its plans for him? Why have a manager if he's not expected to manage his squad?

People pretend AMN threw away some great opportunity to be our first choice right back but its utter fiction. He had a couple of starts as RWB in the 5 man defence this season, and a couple at LWB where he's not good at all. He was never played at RB when we went to a 4 man defence so he was absolutely right to go on loan if Arteta wasn't willing to play him at RB or CM. And somehow thats considered "sulking".

He's moaning in the press to be the center of attention and to get a move, and somehow the club us "disgraceful". Absurd.

He literally says in the interview that he'd like to stay if we want him. 😆 I'm just glad any cult leaders haven't tried to recruit you Coombs because sometimes I get the feeling that they'd succeed.
