Di Marzio confirmed the fee. 15m pounds rising to 17m with add-ons. Around 18 to 20m in euros to Roma.

Not so good fee but at least we got rid of him

The potential of a takeover is about the only thing that really matters with Arsenal to me right now. But Xhaka going, and lots of talk of a real clear out still makes me very happy.

I wish I could feel the relief but not being able to even get more than 20 million pounds for the player is a defeat, particularly at the expense of someone thats familiar with the gameplay, can do basic distribution and was settled in the club. Couple that with the Ruben Neves rumours and it doesn't instill confidence for me. I suppose its more than the 5 odd million euros we would have gotten from Hertha Berlin two years ago.

I am quite disinterested, but it's as much to do with being extremely busy than it is the quality of the football.

I am certain that the guys running the club don't currently have the level of expertise required to make the improvements required to bring the club back to the position it belongs. They might learn, and unlike most others, I don't think they lack ambition, but I am entirely bored of waiting now.

Ek and the Invincible seems like an exciting and viable alternative, and I like a lot of the ideas they've put out there. I now can't really get too excited by anything beyond that.

I don't even mind Arteta, I still think he's the only guy at the club that has a clue what he's doing and the only hope there is of a decent team taking to the pitch come August. But I want new owners, new ideas, fan engagement, new direction, and the next chapter in the clubs history to begin.

I still get sucked in and daydream of squad clear-outs and wishlist XIs full of players we're linked to - that stuff is more addictive than crack - but, I'm aware that nothing is as important as getting new owners to drive the changes needed from the top. All the ins and outs and little details seem a little irrelevant to me at the moment.

I think it's an acceptable amount for a 29 year old that has had an, at best, mixed time of it in the past few seasons. And really I wouldn't care if it was a free transfer, just as long as the guy's no longer around to sit in the middle of our midfield, as the central figure shaping so much of how the team functions.

He's a good character and has a good attitude, I think, and I wish him well. But he's not a player I enjoy watching at all, and I think his weaknesses have cost us again and again in his time here. And his departure opens up real possibility for Arteta to reshape the team.

it's a decent fee. he's mistake that has lasted for 5 years, and we absolutely must not fuck up his replacement

No I can live with selling AMN despite preferring him over other squad members but this shit is outrageous. Really poor form from everyone at the club.

I wouldn't say I can't stand him, I would say I feel a bit sorry for him. He seems a bit delusional about his ability and poorly advised in terms of his choices and prospects. He definitely has an attitude that is in some respects off-putting, but I think he's a silly kid that has thrown away a great chance to become a very good player for the club he has come through at. It's a shame, but it's time for him to move on. Crystal Palace seems about right for him, too.

The kid sulked because he, genuinely, thinks he's the second coming of Patrick Vieira. What can you do with someone that is so detached from reality? He is not going to be an Arsenal and England star because of himself and his own failings, not because of Arteta or anyone at Arsenal

I wish him well, and hope he pulls up trees as a centre midfielder at Palace, or wherever. But I don't see it happening, not even close to the level he clearly sees himself reaching anyway.
